The meaning of Eliana
Eliana has two separate roots, says Behind the Name. As a Hebrew name it means “my God has answered”. It is also the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese form of the French name Éliane. Wikipedia says the name is found with this spelling in Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, and Elianna is a common alternative spelling.
Nicknames for Eliana
Behind the Name lists Liana as the Italian diminutive, and Elianna, Elliana and Ellianna as English variants. Ellie and Ana are easy to pull out of the name, too.
Famous Elianas
In Brazil, Eliana needs no surname. Eliana Michaelichen Bezerra, born on November 22, 1972, joined the children’s music group A Patotinha at 13, Wikipedia says, then hosted the hit kids’ show Bom Dia & Cia at 20. From 2009 to 2024 she hosted her own Sunday afternoon show, Eliana, on the SBT network, before moving to TV Globo.
How popular is Eliana?
Eliana is climbing fast. US Social Security data has it at 107th in the 2010s, when more than 28,200 American girls were named Eliana. Behind the Name says it reached the US top 10 in 2025, and ranked 29th in Puerto Rico and 38th in New South Wales, Australia.
Fun facts about the name Eliana
Eliana has a built-in answer. Behind the Name files the Hebrew Eliana among its theophoric names, names that contain a word for God, alongside a separate entry for the Romance-language Eliana that comes from Éliane. So the same spelling can honor a Hebrew heritage or a Latin one, and Behind the Name now lists it among the ten most popular girls’ names in the United States.

Who it’s for and ways to use it
This is a notebook for every kind of Eliana: the student, the list-maker, the diary keeper, the busy mom. Its 160 lined pages and 6" x 9" format suit daily journaling, study, meal plans, goals or gratitude notes. Plain lines mean no rules about how to use it. Her name on the front makes it easy to spot on a crowded desk.
Why a name on the cover matters
Notebooks tend to multiply on desks and in drawers. One with Eliana’s name on the front is instantly hers: easy to spot, harder to “borrow”, and more personal than a plain cover. For children especially, seeing their own name on something makes it special and encourages them to actually use it.
