A simple, pretty journal made for one person: Stacey. Her name is set in script above pink watercolor apple blossom on the cover.
Stacey is a variant of Stacy, says Behind the Name. Wikipedia explains that baby-name guides give Stacy two Greek origins: Anastasia, meaning “resurrection”, for girls, and Eustace, meaning “steadfast”, for boys. It is also an English surname, and Wikipedia’s list shows it on plenty of men as well.
Behind the Name gives Stace as the diminutive of Stacey, and Staci, Stacie, Stacy and Stacia as other spellings. Stace is short and friendly, and Stacia hints at the name’s link to Anastasia.
Stacey Abrams served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2017 and founded Fair Fight Action in 2018, work widely credited with boosting voter turnout in Georgia. In England, Stacey Dooley makes documentaries for BBC Three and won Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Stacey Solomon came third on The X Factor in 2009 and won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! the following year.
Stacey was a 1970s star. US Social Security data has it at 103rd in the 1960s, then 47th in the 1970s, when more than 59,000 American girls were named Stacey, and 92nd in the 1980s. That puts most Staceys in their 40s and 50s, a busy stage of life that suits a notebook for lists and plans.
Before she was famous in politics, Stacey Abrams was a novelist. Wikipedia says she wrote her first novel in her third year at Yale Law School and published eight works of fiction under the pen name Selena Montgomery. Her legal thriller While Justice Sleeps came out under her own name in 2021.
Whether Stacey is eight or eighty, a 6" x 9" notebook is a comfortable size: big enough to write in properly, slim enough to carry. The 160 lined pages don’t come with a set layout, so she decides what it’s for. Journal, planner, class notes, recipes, travel log or doodle book all work. And with her name on the cover, nobody will mistake it for theirs.
Personalized gifts show you thought about the person, not just the occasion. A notebook with Stacey on the cover is affordable, useful every day and still feels special. It’s also a safe choice when you’re not sure of someone’s style, because everyone needs somewhere to write things down.
How big is Stacey’s Notebook? It’s 6" x 9" (about 15.2 x 22.9 cm), with 160 lined pages in a paperback cover.
