Where does the name Everly come from?
Everly comes from an English surname, says Behind the Name, taken from a place name built from the Old English eofor, “boar”, and leah, “woodland, clearing”. It began rising in America in 2008, slowly at first and rapidly after 2012. Behind the Name suggests the folk band Everly, whose music featured on One Tree Hill, or similar names like Evelyn and Beverly, may have helped.
Other forms of Everly
Behind the Name lists Everlee and Everleigh as variant spellings. Evie and Ev are easy short forms for an Everly.
Well-known Everlys
The best-known Everlys are Don and Phil, the Everly Brothers. Wikipedia says the duo were known for close-harmony singing and steel-string acoustic guitar, and became pioneers of country rock. Their first hit, “Bye Bye Love”, reached No. 1 in 1957, followed by “Wake Up Little Susie” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream”. Rolling Stone ranked them No. 1 among the 20 greatest duos of all time.
Everly’s popularity
Everly is a 2010s name. US Social Security data has it at 151st in the 2010s, when more than 20,800 American girls were named Everly. Behind the Name says it ranked 91st in the US in 2025, 89th in Canada in 2024, and 297th in England and Wales.
A few more things about Everly
The Everly Brothers were in the very first Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. Wikipedia says they were inducted in 1986, the inaugural year, and into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. As children in the 1940s they sang on the radio in Iowa with their parents as the Everly Family, and Wikipedia says the Beatles based the vocal arrangement of “Please Please Me” on the Everlys’ “Cathy’s Clown”.

A notebook for every Everly
Everly’s Notebook works just as well for a teenager as for a grandmother. It’s 6" x 9", which fits in most bags, with 160 lined pages and no printed layout to work around. Use it as a diary, a school notebook, a planner or a place to collect quotes and ideas. A name on the cover turns an everyday notebook into something personal.
Why choose a personalized notebook?
A plain notebook is useful. One with her name on it is a gift. Seeing “Everly’s Notebook” on the cover tells Everly it was chosen for her, not grabbed off a shelf, and that small touch is often what makes people keep a notebook going instead of abandoning it after a week.
