Where does the name Meredith come from?

Meredith comes from the Welsh name Maredudd, says Behind the Name, possibly from mawredd, “greatness, magnificence”, combined with iudd, “lord”. The Welsh forms were well used through the Middle Ages. Since the mid-1920s Meredith has been used more often for girls than for boys in English-speaking countries, though it is still a boy’s name in Wales.

Other forms of Meredith

Behind the Name lists Merideth and Meridith as English variant spellings, and Meredydd and Maredudd as Welsh forms. Merry makes a cheerful pet name.

A notebook for every Meredith

Meredith’s Notebook works just as well for a teenager as for a grandmother. It’s 6" x 9", which fits in most bags, with 160 lined pages and no printed layout to work around. Use it as a diary, a school notebook, a planner or a place to collect quotes and ideas. A name on the cover turns an everyday notebook into something personal.

Why choose a personalized notebook?

A plain notebook is useful. One with her name on it is a gift. Seeing “Meredith’s Notebook” on the cover tells Meredith it was chosen for her, not grabbed off a shelf, and that small touch is often what makes people keep a notebook going instead of abandoning it after a week.
