A simple, pretty journal made for one person: Lynda. Her name is set in script above pink watercolor apple blossom on the cover.
Lynda is a variant of Linda, says Behind the Name, and Wikipedia calls it a spelling variation. Linda began as a medieval short form of Germanic names containing lind, “soft, flexible, tender”. It also matches the Spanish and Portuguese word linda, “beautiful”.
Behind the Name lists Lindy, Linnie and Lyndi as diminutives, and Linn in Sweden and Norway. Lyn is an easy short form too, though the sources do not list it, and Linda is the original spelling.
Lynda Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and was crowned Miss World USA in 1972. Wikipedia says she is best known for playing Wonder Woman in the TV series Wonder Woman (1975 to 1979). She later had a cameo as Asteria in Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) and a recurring role as President Olivia Marsdin on Supergirl.
Lynda rode Linda’s wave. US Social Security data has it at 112th in the 1940s, when more than 27,900 American girls were named Lynda, and 157th in the 1950s. Behind the Name says Linda itself spiked from the 1930s, peaked in the late 1940s, and was the most popular girls’ name in the United States from 1947 to 1952.
A Lynda grew up in the White House. Wikipedia says Lynda Bird Johnson Robb, born in 1944, is the elder daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson. She chaired Reading Is Fundamental, the nation’s largest children’s literacy organization, and was First Lady of Virginia from 1982 to 1986. She is also the oldest living child of a U.S. president.
Whether Lynda is eight or eighty, a 6" x 9" notebook is a comfortable size: big enough to write in properly, slim enough to carry. The 160 lined pages don’t come with a set layout, so she decides what it’s for. Journal, planner, class notes, recipes, travel log or doodle book all work. And with her name on the cover, nobody will mistake it for theirs.
Personalized gifts show you thought about the person, not just the occasion. A notebook with Lynda on the cover is affordable, useful every day and still feels special. It’s also a safe choice when you’re not sure of someone’s style, because everyone needs somewhere to write things down.
How big is Lynda’s Notebook? It’s 6" x 9" (about 15.2 x 22.9 cm), with 160 lined pages in a paperback cover.
Where do I buy it? On Amazon. It’s printed on demand and shipped by Amazon, so delivery and returns go through your usual Amazon account.
